Seth Thomas “Octagon Top C”, ca. 1865.  This 9-inch cottage is veneered in rosewood with at Type C 30-hour, time-and-alarm movement signed Plymouth Conn.  It is running just fine; the alarm was not tested, it strikes on an iron bell.  The label also shows a Plymouth Hollow origin, indicating that this is a pre-1865 example.  The glasses are old, the lower glass has a damaged image that has been rebacked, and there is some wear evident, as at the upper left edge of the case.  $25-75.
