TJ-16. $250
Modern inverted pendulum portico, ca. 1980? I thought that this was made by ProClocks but Bob Crowder says no. There is no stamp of origin or manufacture. The portico
stand is 28 inches tall with veneer of indeterminate origin (to me); some of the veneer is separating along the edges. The movement
is suspended from the top and swings back and forth gently, serving as a pendulum, and the crutch wire is loosely held in place in
back behind the clock. The dial is porcelain. The movement is a pinwheel escapement, running 8 days and striking on the
hours on a brass bell. It is running and striking but will likely need adjustment, which does not appear to be too difficult. An interesting novelty clock based on similar French clocks worth thousands of dollars. I can find no sales of this model, so
we’ll start at $250. $250–$500.
