JS-12. $150
Ansonia Clock Co. “Register”, ca. 1901. ‘Lovely’
seems inadequate to describe this 11-inch tall by 13-inch-wide Ruby (you thought it was plum) porcelain clock. I see no chips
or cracks but there is some crazing throughout; the gilding is strong. The glass is beveled, the signed dial is porcelain with
no defects, the hands are correct, and there is a visible escapement with steel pallets. The 8-day, time and half-hour strike
movement is running and striking on a cathedral gong. A very similar example sold at Tom Harris in 2020 for $190. $150–$250.
