BM-11. $175
E. Ingraham Co. “Dewey”, ca. 1899. One of several
clocks commemorating the Spanish-American War; Commodore George Dewey was a hero for destroying the Spanish fleet in Manila Bay, Philippines.
The pressed oak case is 23 inches tall and has an old, dark, and slightly crusty finish. The glass is original with good retention
of the stencil of his ship, the Olympia. The paper dial is evenly toned, the hands correct, and the signed 8-day, time-and-strike
movement is running and striking, although the strike is feeble. A proper Ingraham patriotic pendulum and a good label on the
back. AAC has sold three of this model in the last several years for from $200 to $254 a year ago. $175–$250.
