Ansonia Clock Co. “Monarch” REPRODUCTION, ca. 1980? The modern case is 25 inches tall to the top of the center finial.  The walnut case has a clean and polished finish; the door glass is modern, the heavy dial bezel is a well-done reproduction.  The paper dial bears the Ansonia logo but has yellowed. The hands are not to specs.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is marked “Japan” but will not run.  The two-barrel pendulum may be the only antique item on this clock.  There is no label.  $50–$200.
