Chauncey Jerome shelf clock, 1845-1855. A refinished 24-inch column & cornice case with flame mahogany veneer along the bottom.  The half-columns were probably originally gilded or painted black.  The dial glass is old, possibly original, the lower glass tablet a modern replacement.  The dial has been repainted, the hands are proper.  The signed 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the wire gong; there is a good label inside.  Looks good, priced right.  $100–$200.
