DN-19.           $100

Wm. S. Johnson four-post column & cornice with alarm, 1841-1848. Mr. Johnson was a prolific New York City clock retailer, obtaining clocks, movements, and cases from various sources.  This handsome clock is 26 inches tall in either walnut or mahogany, with two painted columns on each side.  The dial glass is old, the lower glass and tablet a modern replacement.  The wood dial has been repainted; the unsigned 30-hour time, strike, and alarm movement is running, striking, and the alarm works.  There are two wafer weights and an alarm weight.  The hands are correct, but the minute hand is a modern replacement.  There is a dark, torn but legible label inside.  I must be the only guy who likes these clocks.  AAC sold one in January of 2022 for $150.  $100–$200.
