SP-4. $200
Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Office Calendar No.
6”, ca. 1896. A 32-inch walnut case with rosewood veneer on the sides, but the front, including the bezels, is not veneered. It has a glossy finish. The dial glass is modern, the lower glass period. Both dials are paper, with “Seth Thomas” inked
in on the upper dial, and the dial paper supplier’s logo. The three hands are proper. The 8-day, time-only movement is
signed but will not run and will need cleaning. The Andrews calendar mechanism is working fine; the roller papers have been
replaced and the month roller is green, something I have not seen before. There is a label on the back of the door. There
is a Riggs & Brother label inside, indicating that this Philadelphia retailer listed this clock; it may be a special order made
for them. AAC sold two of this model in the last two years for an average of $526; both had fewer shortcomings than this one. $200–$400.
