249.            $100

General Electric-Telechron “Monitor Top” refrigerator electric clock, 1928-1931.  Only made for a few years and modeled after the General Electric all-steel refrigerator, nicknamed the “Monitor Top” because the refrigerator compressor on top resembled the the Civil War ironclad ship named the Monitor.  This is the earlier of two models at 8.75 inches tall and the heavy metal case has been professionally repainted.  The dial glass is convex, the hands and dial original with the Telechron name.  The dot below the 12 will show a red color if the power has failed; you reset it to white with a stem in the back (the knob is missing).  The red dot told you the time was incorrect.  The clock is running quietly, and the cord is good; I did not inspect the motor.  These clocks were not sold but were given away by GE appliance retailers. $100-$250.

Looking for an easy way to save the clocks you like?

Here's an easy way to keep track of your favorite clocks:  Open/download the Bid Form PDF onto your computer (it should open in a new window) and type in the clocks you want to save.  Right click to 'save as', or click the download arrow in the top right corner of your browser window, and you can save the filled-in form on your computer - I recommend your desktop.  It will be easy to find and you can open it any time to add or subtract clocks from the list.  When you are ready to go, your bid form will be too!
