Bulle electromagnetic clock, 1920-1952. Let’s
start by saying I know nothing about electromagnetic clocks, but here is a good NAWCC primer if you are like me, but have more time
than me. These French and later English clocks were produced for over 30 years and many different models were made, all of which
use the same mechanism. This is a not uncommon model which, with the antique glass dome stands 14.5-inches tall. The 5.5-inch
painted metal dial is signed and labeled ‘France’ at the bottom; there is also a small bronze plaque on the front of the wood base. The battery is stored in the brass cylinder housing and replacements can be purchased from TimeSavers, or any 1.5V D battery will
work. Note that the Bulle tripole magnet can become demagnetized over time and will require regeneration in a nuclear reactor,
or by a guy who knows what he is doing. The most recent sale of this model that I can find was at Cottone’s in 2021 for $275. $200-$300.
