217.            $250

Arguilles time-and-strike carriage clock, ca. 1900? I can find very little information on this French carriage clock maker, with limited sales records and no comparables.  The slightly tarnished case is 7.5 inches tall with the handle up, 4 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep.  There are four beveled glasses (one on top) and a brass back door.  The back of the movement is stamped with the maker; it runs 8 days, time-and-strike on the small nickel bell on the back.  A white dial and delicate trefoil hands.  It is running and striking confidently.  $250-$500.
