210.             $2500

Seth Thomas “Office Calendar No. 3”, ca. 1863. The “Peanut” was an early wall calendar from Seth Thomas, only 23 inches from tip to tip, with a 6-inch time dial and an 8-inch calendar dial.  This model uses a round, double-wind, time-only movement that runs for 8 days, and was used only in this model. Here the case is veneered in rosewood in fine condition, with an old finish that shows some alligatoring.  Both glasses are old/original, the dials have been repainted, the hands, including the ‘ST’ time hands, are correct.  The unsigned movement is running and the Mix Brothers calendar is advancing.  There is a black instruction label on the back of the door; I do not have a door key but the door stays closed.  AAC sold a Peanut in July 2020 for $3100.  $2500-$3500.
