206.             $500

Welch, Spring & Co. “Round Head No. 4”, ca. 1878. A 32-inch case veneered in rosewood with a beautiful finish.  The dial glass is original, the calendar glass old, both dials old paint in good condition.  The hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, spring-driven, time-and-strike movement is signed EN Welch; it is clean but oily, and not running, indicating that service is going to be needed.  The calendar mechanism in the lower door will advance; there is a Welch, Spring & Co. label over the door and a B.B. Lewis label on the back of the mechanism. There is a good label inside on the backwall.  Fontaine’s sold a No. 4 this year for $550.  $500-$750.

Can I return my clock if I don’t like it?

Absolutely!  Save your packing and box, you have 30 days from receipt to return it for a full refund if you are unhappy.  If the clock is not as described, or I missed something important and that is not evident from the pictures, I will refund your shipping costs (both ways) as well.  Find another auction company that does that!
