Riley Whiting 30-hour shelf clock, 1828-1835.  A 35-inch case with nicely carved columns and splat, original dial glass with noticeable imperfections and a beautifully painted tablet on modern glass by an unknown artist.  The wooden dial is clean but very faded, the hands are period and proper.  The 30-hour time-and-strike wooden movement is unwilling to run; there are two period weights and an old bob.  The label is readable with a color lithograph overpaste likely done by an owner.  $250-$400.
