173. $2000
Waterbury Clock Co. “Regulator No. 61”, ca. 1913. A 96.5-inch, two-part case (base and trunk) of quartered oak with a clean old refinish. The base is 28.5-inches across and 13 inches deep. Both glasses appear to be original. The 12-inch porcelain dial is signed, the hands are correct. I cannot keep this movement running for more than an hour or so and it will need service. The gridiron pendulum is brass and nickel with oval rods and a polished brass weight and weight cap. There is a Waterbury beat scale at the bottom and a label inside the case that says “Regulator No. 71”, which is wrong. Will this fit in your room? Accurately measure your ceiling height where you wish to place this clock if you have 8-ft ceilings. Two sales in 2021, $2000 and $3250 at Schmidt’s Antiques and Witherall’s, respectively. $2500-$3500.
Delivery to the central and eastern time zones for $350.
