167. $400
Waterbury Clock Co. “Dresden”, ca. 1915. Available only in oak, a 50-inch case with a clean finish and no missing or replaced details. The door glass is old, the dial
is porcelain with fancy Waterbury hands. The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on the
cathedral gong. Everything is original here, and there are labels on the back and inside, as well as a Waterbury beat scale. Clearly designed to compete with imported Vienna clocks, as indicated even by the name. An uncommon model, with only one sale
on LiveAuctioneers, in 2008 at Harris for $625; R.O. Schmitt sold one that year for $1700. Both were 30-day time-only models. $500-$800.
