Wm Gilbert Clock Co. “Regulator No. 11”, ca. 1891. A great looking restored wall regulator. The 50-inch walnut case has been refinished. The top segment of the crest is
a replacement, the rest of the crest and the case is original. Note the inset burl panel on the base. The glass is likely
original, held in place with the original glazing. The dial is paper, signed, mounted on the original dial pan in a replacement
bezel. Normally this clock would have a seconds dial, but the movement here is a spring-driven replacement for the expected
weight-driven movement. This Gilbert 8-day, time-and-strike brass movement that is running and striking on a cathedral gong. The pendulum stick and bob are correct. The interior of the case was repainted; there is a like-new reproduction label on the
back. All in all, a good job of saving and restoring this impressive clock. $500-$800.
