Seth Thomas “Gallery 24-inch”, 1894. Holy cow, there
is no end to big Seth Thomas clocks. This gallery clock is 32 inches across with a 24-inch dial. Thomas made these clocks
from 1884 to 1924, and this is one of the earlier editions. I believe this one contains a 30-day, time-only, double-wind movement,
but some examples contained a 15-day movement. I do not have the space to run this one for a month, so you’ll have to take your
chances – you may have to wind it twice a month. The case is “old oak”, the glass is original, as is the painted dial with the
ST logo. The hands are also correct and original. Manufacture date stamped on the back, no label. Cowan’s sold one
for $650 in 2020, Fontaine’s sold one in 2019 for $850. $600-800.
