157. $400
Ansonia “Forrest”, ca. 1894. A 40-inch black walnut
case with an old/original finish, thick and almost crusty. The door glass is old, the signed + logo paper dial yellowing, the
hands as shown in Ly’s book on Ansonia clocks, page 189. The 8-day time and half-hour strike spring-driven movement is signed,
running, and striking on a cathedral gong. Like the case, the bob could use some polish. No label to be found. Horton’s
sold one in 2019 for $725; RO Schmitt’s sold one in 2018 for $500. Not a common clock. $400-$600.
