Boston area production banjo,ca. 1850.  A 33-inch box banjo; the grain-painting is mostly gone and there appears to be a dark overstain, there are two carved sidearms and three modern glasses.  The dial is soiled and not original to the clock, the hands are early hand-carved darts. The banjo movement is bright and shiny and may be modern; it is running without issue, driven by an iron banjo weight and a brass pendulum bob on a rod.  An original tin weight shield, winding key included.  $300-$600.
