119.              $200

Forestville Mfg. Co. double-door OG, 1835-1839. This model is also called an “OG on OG” clock, likely made in the 1830’s based on the solid escape wheel.  The 31-inch case is veneered in figured mahogany with just a couple of chips at the corners and a clean finish.  Both glasses are period if not original, the lower glass with a cut and frosted tablet that is seen on other examples of this model.  Square-head nails are holding it in place.  The wooden dial bears the “Forestvill,Manufacturing Co.  Bristol.CT.U.S.A.” imprint (note the misspelling of Forestville); the hands are original.  The 8-day, time-and-strike brass movement is signed but will not run; it will strike on the wire gong.  There are two 8-day weights and a large fancy pendulum bob.  The label is lost.  Another must-have model for the OG clock collector.  No recent sales.  $200-$400.
