Seth Thomas “Column Shell Large”, ca. 1870. The label says
this clock was made in Thomaston, but the movement was made in Plymouth. Both the same place, but after 1865 it was Thomaston. The 32.5-inch case has good mahogany veneer, painted tortoise-shell columns, the original gilt capitals and bases, and three old glasses,
the tablets rebacked and the war eagle on the bottom glass a decal. The dial has been professionally repainted and the hands
are correct. The Seth Thomas movement is clean but not strung, so I couldn’t test it. I would expect it to run without
problem given its condition. There are no weights, but you can purchase a set of weights in Parts (#606). The label inside
is very well preserved. This clock displays very well. You should get it. $200-$400.
