98.             $100

Nicholas Muller “Dove”, Casting No. 85, 1865-1876. A surprisingly small Muller casting, 9.25 inches tall, featuring a dove at the top feeding its young over a grape vine.  The gold finish on the case appears to be original; the 2.5-inch dial is yellowed paper, also possibly original, as are the trefoil hands. The 30-hour time-and-strike, lever movement is unsigned, probably made by the Terry Clock Co.  It is running and striking the bell on the back.  You can see this exact clock on page 105 of Arlyn Rath’s book, Nicholas Muller Horologist Extraordinaire, who owned it at one time.  AAC sold one last winter for $176; it had no surface finish.  I can find no other sales. $100-$200.
