90. $150
Bradley & Hubbard iron-front, ca.1858. Although the dial says “Jerome”, the casting is clearly marked “Bradley & Hubbard, Patent Applied For 1858”. The dial may be a replacement, but not necessarily, as B&H had a relationship with the New Haven Clock Co. (Jerome). The
hands are appropriate modern replacements, as is the dial glass. The porthole glass is likely original. The unsigned 8-day,
time-and-strike movement also looks like a Jerome issue and is running and striking as required, although the strike hammer and wire
gong are not aligned. The bottom of the case is missing and there is no label. The paint retention on this iron-front
is outstanding, including the center image of two homes on a lake, making it one of the best I have seen. It stands 19.5 inches
tall. $150-$250.
