85.          $150

Waterbury Clock Co. “Buffalo”, ca. 1893.  A large (27-inch) walnut case with twisted columns and carvings in Waterbury style, overcoated with varnish excessively, to the point of being crusty. The door glass is old and proper, and as shown on page 831 of Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches Vol. 2 (this model is most often seen with a simple calendar).  The painted dial is original and shows the Waterbury logo above the mainstem; it is clean and has just one chip that I can see, below the logo.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed but not running, even though Bubba Bear in Bay St. Louis worked on it in 2003, and Northshore-Southshore Clocks in Slidell worked on it again in 2011.  It has a nickel Waterbury pendulum to match the nickel bezel.  A Waterbury label on the back and Waterbury winding key inside.  A nice example if you like ‘em original.  I can’t find any sales records for this model without a calendar.  $150-$250.
