81.            $100

Seth Thomas “Octagon Top”, ca. 1865.  A classic, small (14.5-inches tall) shelf clock with a 30-hour time-and-strike spring-driven movement, notable here for the Masonic tablet.  The clean rosewood veneer is practically perfect, the dial glass and tablet certainly original.  The contoured dial has been touched up repeatedly and is discolored, but still bears the patent information.  The hands are not ST hands, an easy fix from Timesavers. The 30-hour lyre movement is signed with the Plymouth Hollow location; it is running but the strike is not striking.  The label confirms the Plymouth Hollow location, dating the clock to pre-1865.  $100-$200.
