Seth Thomas “Arch Top”, ca. 1880.  A 15.5-inch case veneered in burl walnut with a few small chips, but the veneer and the clean finish is a big plus for this example.  The dial glass is old, the contoured metal dial was repainted some time ago, the hands are proper.  The 8-day, time-and-strike, signed movement is running and striking; there is a good label inside.  Schmidt’s Antiques sold one a year ago for $200.  $150-$250.
