76. $100
E. Ingraham & Co. “Venetian No. 2”, ca. 1885. An 18-inch case with beautiful rosewood veneer on the sides, but some wear to the finish/grain painting on the bezels and rosettes. The formerly gilded trim and columns have been painted gold. Both glasses are old/original but the putty has been replaced;
the tablet is period with minimal losses. The dial is old paper, the hands are correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement
is unsigned, running and striking on the wire gong. There is a 1886 paste-over label from a retailer in New York; the original
green label is an Ingraham label. A good clock for the beginner or casual collector. Horton’s sold one in 2018 for $150. $100-$200.
