Seth Thomas “Parlor Calendar No. 10” (later model), ca. 1900.  No. 10’s made after 1896 had simpler trim than the earlier models – the top and bottom side trim was simpler (see Ly, Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements, Vol. 1, page 110).  The 36-inch walnut case has an old finish with good patina, and all the trim ornaments are present.  The glasses are old, the painted time and calendar dials are clean and chip-free and may have been repainted some time ago.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-and-strike lyre movement is signed and is bright and shiny, but the strike side is hung up and I can’t see the reason why.  The calendar movement is a modern replacement.  The clock is running, driven by two 8-lb weights, and the calendar is advancing.  Note the likely original pulley dust covers, something I have not seen before. Fontaine’s sold one in 2018 for $3250.  $2500-$4000.
