39.             $350

Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 4”, ca. 1885. A third example of this model, this one with a finish that has not been touched since it came out of the factory.  Patina is too good a word for the finish on this clock; you will need to get out your Kotton Klenser and four-ought steel wool for this one. On the positive side, almost everything is original with the sole exception of the seconds bit dial, which has been replaced, and has a paper dial.  The three finials are original.  The door glass and lettering are original.  The dials are original, with considerable flaking to the calendar dial and warping to both.  The calendar hand is a replacement.  The Seth Thomas movement is signed and made for the SCCC; it is running and striking as expected.  The RT Andrews calendar mechanism is advancing as well.  Notably, this example has a damascened nickel pendulum bob, not commonly seen with these clocks.  $350-$600.
