27.               $1200

Waterbury Clock Co. “The Music Men”,ca. 1920.  Ok, fine, laugh it up.  You know how much this rare model sold for in 2004?  $3201 at Horton’s Antique Clocks. That’s the only sale I can find, but it is not for this clock.  That means there are at least two, and Carroll says in his write-up that there is also a “Pilgrims” model with two Pilgrims in hats with a blunderbuss gun.  Be on the lookout!  The Mission-style clock is 33 inches long with the pendulum and 27 inches wide.  The finish on the oak case is original and a bit grungy on the 13-inch diameter face, but the carved musicians are well-polished.  You can almost hear the guy in the middle singing. The movement is signed, 8-day, time-and-strike, and running just fine, striking on the cathedral gong on the hours.  The pendulum is Waterbury issue, the weights may be; the other one that sold had twisted Waterbury weights.  There is no label, and this clock is not shown in either of Ly’s two volumes on Waterbury clocks.  Look, I think you need this.  $1200-$2400.
