Antique American Clocks July 2022
11. $500
Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2”, 1894. The 36-inch case
appears to be mahogany (possibly, walnut), particularly with the figured mahogany veneer around the dial. The finish is old
and needs cleaning; this clock has been in storage since 2005. Both glasses are old/original and there is a white label inside
on the bottom (the date of manufacture is stamped on the back). The dial is a proper replacement from the early 1900’s; the
seconds bit is not ST issue. The unsigned 8-day, time-only movement is mounted on an iron base; it runs for about half an hour
with a proper No. 2 brass weight, pendulum stick and dull bob and will need attention. The interior has been painted black and
the buttons on the bottom of the case are gone. Mahogany and walnut No. 2’s are selling currently for under $600. $500-$750.
