Antique American Clocks July 2022
3. $1200
Waterbury Clock Co. “Library”, ca. 1906. Not small at all, this
clock is 44 inches long in mahogany with a beautiful clean finish. The top finial is correct, all the parts look original, and
there are no missing trim pieces. The dial glass, 8-inch porcelain dial, and hands are all original. The 8-day time and
half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong above the movement. The polished brass weights
are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, page 195) and the heavier strike weight is stamped as
such on the top. The pendulum bob and stick are Waterbury issue; there are even wooden acorns on the ends of the pull chains. About as close to perfect as you can get for this model. Fontaine's sold this model last year for $1500. $1200-$1500.
